ready-to-use Hosted packages, other organizations
prefer installing our Source Code package on
their intranet or extranet. Compared to our
Hosted packages, the Source Code package is
licensed, self-customizable and it can be
integrated with your in-house applications. |

The Source Code package lets you:
- Purchase a license instead of paying monthly or annually for using the service - While Hosted packages, like most web-based project management software on the Web, require a monthly or an annual fee for a subscription, the Source Code package is licensed. Therefore, it requires a license for a certain number of users to be purchased (one-time fee), and upgrades can be purchased in the future. There is no monthly or annual charge for the Source Code package. The package even comes with one free upgrade to a subsequent version upon purchase!
- Control security - For certain organizations, it is not conceivable to store confidential or sensitive data on the Internet. They feel the risk of having this data stolen is too high. Therefore, they prefer having AceProject installed on their intranet. Thus, they can ensure maximum security for their data. For maximum security, we recommend you install an SSL 128-bit certificate on your server, which will encrypt your data with the HTTPS protocol.
- Control accessibility - Having AceProject installed on your intranet frees your mind of bad consequences Internet downtime would have on your projects. Thus, if your Internet connectivity goes down, you would still be able to use AceProject, since your local area network connection will take over from it.
- Self-customize the application - Having our project management software installed locally lets you adapt it to your specific corporate needs, especially if you need to integrate it with in-house applications. This way, development costs are substantially lowered; the application is already developed, all that is left to do is installation and customization. Your internal IT department can perform the modifications you need or we can perform the work for you via our custom work service. You must be aware that all modifications performed by our team are 100 % guaranteed, while those performed by your team are not. Note that all modifications made to your package, as well as the way your plan to use AceProject, must comply with our
license agreement.

If you prefer using AceProject online, without having to install any additional software, you need to subscribe to a Hosted package. Hosted accounts are stored on our servers; they can be accessed from any web browser, from anywhere, at any time.

The Source Code package is emailed as a .zip file, which includes the items below:
- A copy of the entire AceProject application:
- AceProject can run on a SQL Server (.bak) or on an Access (.mdb) database. Both database formats are included in the Source Code package;
- A detailed step-by-step installation procedure, which includes screenshots, for easy deployment on your server;
- Two (2) free email sender components - JMail and Dundas;
- A copy of the license agreement, which can also be found here. Make sure you read and accept all these terms before purchasing the Source Code package.
- Customer service and technical support are main priorities for us. Our priority support service ensures that our customers' inquiries and issues are always processed within 4 hours or less.

If you purchased your Source Code package a while ago, you might not enjoy our latest features. Since we always provide you with a free version upgrade upon a Source Code license purchase, you might not have to pay for upgrading to the current version. We suggest you take a look at our News & Updates page to review our latest additions.
If you don't know which version you are currently using, you can view this information on your login page. If you already used your free version upgrade, you will have to purchase an upgrade extension if you wish to get the latest features. You can either upgrade to the current version only or upgrade to the current version AND get an upgrade to a subsequent version as well. Note that upgrades include database conversion.

Minimum Server Hardware Requirements:
(The unzipped package size is 21 Mb)
- Pentium III or equivalent, 600 MHz or higher;
- 512 MB memory;
- Required disk space depend on the file attachment and project document usage you are planning;
- A local area network (LAN). Since AceProject is a web-based application, many computers may need to connect to the main server simultaneously.
Software Requirements:
- Windows NT/2000/2003/XP/Vista;
- A Web server equipped with Internet Information Server 4.0 (IIS) or higher.
